Population - 700 Crores !!!

Every Seventh person in the World is an Indian. Of course, it is a matter of proud. But generally there is a thought that increasing population is an alarming symbol. This post is a research on the same.

In 1968, a book called Population Bomb was released. In that effects of increasing population was clearly mentioned. The important effects mentioned there was scarcity of food and shelter.

I would like people to rewind our lifestyle 60 years back. During that time a major portion of people suffered a lot without food. Middle class people had grains as their main course of food.

But see the situation now. Our lifestyle has grown up. Our food production capacity has also grown up. UN predicts world is about to reach 1000 crore population at the end of 21st century.

Are you going to cry thinking about these figures ?!?! Of course not. Because our technology is developing day by day. We are improving ourselves to match with our requirements.

If increase in population is not there, we people would still be on roads. But now, we have got flyovers. We have got many attractive malls. Can you think about going back to technology we had 20 years back.

China has made family planning a mandatory one. India also advertises about importance of small family.

In contrast, Saudi and Singapore pay you for your child. More child you get, more money you will receive. If population raise is danger, why can't UN stop it.

To be precise, problem in India is not the population raise - but the distribution network.

Still now, we have many people laying in platforms, starving for food. But at the same time, we have skyscrapers and the people who eat in golden spoon also.

Is it because of population !?!? It is because of unequal distribution.

Huge quantity of food grains produced in India gets wasted due to improper storage facility. It is very sad that an agricultural Nation does not have proper storage facility.

Recently, Supreme court ordered Government to distribute those grains to poor people of India. But Government has not shown any interest in doing so.

Are you going to blame population for this also ?!!? If so, continue blaming, anyhow it is not going to yield any productive result.

No one can predict the future. Who knows, 10th child of a mother can change the fate of entire nation with his intelligence. Even Lord Krishna came to this World as the EIGHT child.

As population increases, technology also increases. If there is no place left in Earth, we can conquer Moon or other planets.

I am not encouraging increase in population. But people should realize that increase in population alone is not a prime contributor to all the problems in the World.

Nuclear power - Some facts !!!

The hot topic in our country is Nuclear power. Many people oppose it and many support it. But the sad part is we people oppose or support because our friends does. Indeed, many of us don't even take effort to educate us in this regard. We have made some efforts in bringing readers some fact about  nuclear power.

First of all, Government projects that production cost of a unit (using nuclear power) is somewhere around Rs. 2 - Rs. 2.50.

The reason why they select this mode of power is because solar energy costs Rs. 20/ unit. Renewable power are generally more costlier. This is what government projects.

Now coming to the reality, Opposition people states that only maintenance cost is considered in the production cost. Government has projected faulty figure (low amount) to convince people to accept this project.

Somewhere around 6 Lak liters of water is needed for nuclear power plant everyday. No one is ready to release what was the cost considered for per liter of water.

Secondly, Japan power plant (which faced disaster) was built as per 1st generation technology. But India follows 3rd generation technology. More advance and more safer.

Reactor (in koodangulam) was placed at the height of 8.7M from sea level. During tsunami, waves rose up only to 2.7M. Also it is very closer to coastal areas and ports(two ports).

Now coming to seismic level. Seismic level denotes the vulnerability of a place to earthquake. Three governmental agencies quoted three different values (in koodangulam alone).

Opposition party asked for an independent body (something like election commission or supreme court) to analyze the safety precautions and land conditions. This is the status in developed countries. But in India, Government organizations analyzes the safety in power plants. I am not aware how governmental agencies can give a report against government itself.

Hope many people are aware that European nations are shutting down their nuclear power plant.

Installing a nuclear power plant costs us more. Also the maintenance cost is quite high. The most important thing is that we need to spend a considerable amount of money while shutting down the power plant also.

Recently an emergency mock drill was conducted around the area (Say 5Km) around the nuclear power plant. During the mock drill, vehicle used for evacuating people got its engine ceased. It was entirely a flop show, since emergency arrangements were not proper at all. (this incident took place in 2002 at Kalpakam)

Even today, emergency arrangements are not up to date.

Lastly, RTI act even does not discloses few technical process involved in the nuclear power plant, since it could be a threat to the nation itself.

There are many such points to be discussed in this regard. Though this points serves as basic.

Education Vs Violance !!!

Education makes man matured. This is what we people firmly believe. But recent reports makes us think that whether this statement holds good or not. Yes, this post is an analysis of a report released by Government of India.

Three states in India registered more number of crimes / civil cases recently.

1. Uttar Pradesh. 2. Andhra Pradesh. 3. Tamil Nadu.

Delhi accounts for 23% of cases registered against women violation (in India).

One state has accounted for maximum number of suicides - Kerala.

Now lets analyze these three statements.

Uttar Pradesh covers a huge area and the awareness level of people is comparatively low. Hence we could consider that educating people in that area could reduce violence or non compliance to law.

Andhra is also one of the biggest Indian states and due to the sensitive issue of Telungana, the number might be high this time.

But what about Tamil Nadu. Everyone knows that it is not quite a big state. But now how come we people have reached the top ?!!? Education level in Tamil Nadu is quite high compared to many other states. Does it means that our education is not at all being used practically !? Does our educational system failed to give the maturity it supposed to !?!?

Capital of a mother land has become the most insecure place for women to live. Isn't not a shame to us ?!

Such a small state. Fully developed and flooded with educationalist, businessmen and all talented profile holders. But this crime rate has got entirely the counter part of it.

Kerala, yet another small state with 100% literacy rate. It is proudly denoted as God's own land. But now it has become a land of suicides. If education gives us maturity, would it have occur !?!?

If you take a deep breath and analyze these cases, probably you might end up with failure in our educational and family system.

Most of the men from Kerala work abroad. Women are almost involved in local business. Hence, the child never gets the care it needs. Women misses the care of their husband. A sort of family relationship is missing there.

The same is the case in Delhi. People are busy always. They are on the move everyday. They have no time to spend with their family. Hence there is no control over their children.

Money + No care + No control + Wrong exposure (from media and net) = Violence.

This is so simple logic. Now Tamil Nadu is also in the trend of falling prey to this disease. People should wake up now itself. IT companies are overwhelming our lifestyle. A sort of family culture that is emerging nowadays is purely threatening.

I would request everyone of you to please think in this direction. Sorry, it has become quite a long post.

Are we Lazy ?!?!

From the day one, we people act lazy. Though this statement looks bit rough, it is the universal fact. Laziness is not always too bad. Indeed, laziness is the pushing force behind innovation.

People felt lazy to walk - they invented cycle. They felt lazy to pedal - they came up with bike. This cycle will never end.

We always want best output with less input or zero strain. For example, if you give me two options - one to write exam and pass and other is sit in home and get certificate.

What will I prefer !?!? Obviously with the first one. This is because of our laziness.

Though laziness leads to innovations, it also leads to short cuts and breaking of rules too.

Many many road accidents today are because of small laziness in people. I feel lazy to go around and make a U turn, hence I opt to travel in wrong side of the road. Ultimately it is going to result in accident.

We people also have one mentality. If I travel in wrong direction twice and escaped without any injury, I started feeling that this is the right way.

If someone instructs me it is wrong, I teach them that I am using this way for past many years and has never end up with accidents.

Day by day, laziness has got embedded in our life. Sleeping for more time makes us travel more than the desired speed on road. This increases the probability of the accident.

Gentleman, remember one thing. If you are alone lazy, you could escape from accident. But we all are lazy. Hence expect few more lazy guys who are about to be like you (traveling fast on roads). Laziness is a component of life, but it should not be a life alone.

Many of our police people face this problem. The second thing is, we always demand enforcement people to be like God. That is they should never commit mistakes. If a police man travels in wrong side of the road, we see it as a biggest crime (though it is our practice to break the rules)

Democratic !!!

Probably one factor makes a huge difference between India and many other developing countries - Democracy. We are democratic, whereas our prime competitors are not. But how could this be a concern for us ?!?! Will being free be a problem ?!?!?!

Let me start with a small example, If there is no tutor in the class, how many of us will sit with the book and study ?!!? Be it Kindergarten or high school, percentage of people studying in absence of tutor will be very low.

This is what exactly I mean. We people need someone to guide or monitor us all sorts of time. Though we have all our sense and take decision from it, we act like our ancestors (as per Darvin) sometimes.

I think, being a democratic nation makes us in a situation of a class without tutor. There is no control over us. It is a very positive sign. But we people misuse it to a maximum extent.

Recently, I read about an incident. A collector in a district has ordered that all Auto Rickshaws in that area should use meter for charging. Is there anything so wrong with this statement !??!

Few auto drivers came up with Kerosene cans to commit suicide !!! Collector was cornered and his decision was not allowed to be implemented.

Take our population growth. Government keeps on advertising to stop with one child. But how many house has more than one child ?!!? I would like to refer China in this aspect. During birth of the first child, mother is being operated for Family planning.

Can anyone imagine such a stringent control measures in India !??!?!

We people are very comfortable in complaining from our chair. How many of us used democracy in positive sense ?!!? How many complaints have we raised to corporation for repairing our road condition or sewage or street lights ?!?!

We wait for someone to act on these. If we people take a simple initiative of writing a mail to concerned person, this issue would have been properly closed. But we are more comfortable to scold elected representative for this mistake.

Of course, Democracy has more benefits that everyone of us enjoy. But the problem is we forget giving back to Government. I request everyone of you to think in this regard.

Stunts !!!

Either be bus or train, youngsters try to make stunt and prove their expertise. This is in increasing trends nowadays. Strange fact is that our curse or anger motivates people to do so.

Recently many of us might have seen a video on net. A group of guys doing stunts on an electric train. I am amazed that, if they want to take risk to the core - why can't they go to Indian border with a gun in their hand.

At least the people who curse them, will praise. Many a time they do these stupid stunts to grab attention of public, specially girls.

I read an article recently which states that, youngsters smoke cigar only to establish that they are matured. They want to tell the World that they are grown up.

Like the same, these guys want the World to note them. They risk their life to get attention. Really a pathetic situation.

Psychology says that every human has two faces - Lone face and Group face.

Ask the guy to perform his stunts when he his alone (not with his gang), you could notice a huge change in his approach. But in gang, he does to prove his heroism.

This is because, from childhood we see movies. Almost all movies portrait hero to be a person who perform some stunts and risky scenes. This give an impression to this guys that they could also become hero, if they perform such stunts.

Probably lack of knowledge or awareness may be the reason behind their stupid acts, I suppose. Definitely they are not bold enough to face the death.

Also these people are one of the most indecent people. Something like half filled pot dances more than full pot. Big gymnastic experts, professionals maintain dignity and carry on their job whereas these people even kindle other people (common public) to perform this challenge. There are some vulnerable group of people, who get tempted by these guys and risk their life.

Ultimately bus conductor or Train TTE have no control over these people. We need to think from their point also. A person who doesn't know the value of his own life - how could you expect him to respect others word ?!?!?!

Then what is the solution for this issue !?!? If you cannot fight with them or reduce their intention, better avoid them. One day or another, these guys will come to understand the value of their life - that time they will stop doing such stupid activities.

Earphone !!!

To be very honest, I visited Chennai after a long gap. I am really shocked to see the way the city youngsters travel. I do agree, South Indians are more attracted towards fun and entertainment. But ultimately we cannot risk our life for enjoyment or fun.

Yes - I am talking about earphones. Near about 80 - 85% of students and people of mid 30's use earphones almost all times.

I am not going to talk about the chronic usage of earphones, of course people are very much aware about it. Even mobile companies claim that they manufacture mobile phones only for communication purpose and not for listening songs or other stuff. They have also given in written that doing such activities will reduce the lifetime of battery.

Leave it apart. Now lets come to day to day hindrance one face because of earphones.

If you are well inside the bus, preferably have a seat to sit - you have all privilege to listen to FM.

Even hierarchy of needs say that physical needs are the first expectation of any human. Then comes his security needs. The third level comes social needs and entertainments.

We people travel in foot board of buses listening songs, many even drive vehicles listening to FM. The appeal they make is both of their hands are free. Gentleman and Women, hands are used to control your drive - accepted. But control to our body parts comes from brain. And ultimately our brain will not have full concentration on road while listening songs.

I could very well remember few incidents. When a fast song is played, speed of vehicle increases and body movements of people in foot board is more. This is proven, psychologically.

Listening in speaker mode is even a distraction but it is many times less than hearing through earphone.

If you don't believe just use your earphone and try writing a paragraph about what you did from morning. And also try doing the same when you listen song in speaker mode.

In all probability, we need to concentrate more in case of using earphones.

Parents, its time for you to react. You need to demonstrate yourself as a role model in this regard. At the end of the day, its the dream you have on your children. They are the ones you live for. Some silly mistakes may ruin their carrier. Advise them, counsel them and help them getting rid from such a problem.

Transparency !!!

What ever business or job we do, it is necessary to be transparent for us. This is the reason companies submit their quarterly returns. But there is a field which is very less transparent and we people are still ignoring the necessity of transparency in this field.

Yes - I am talking about medical sector.

Consider one person is admitted in hospital. Doctors mostly admit them in ICU. Probably this is the reason that most of the hospitals have ICU in their first or ground floor. They use it as a entry way for their patients.

Recently it happened with me. I was to admit one of my friend to hospital for a minor insect bite on his leg. He was taken to ICU. We people were shocked. What a insect bite has to do with ICU?!?!!?

They referred that they could save patient only of he is admitted in ICU, because pulse may drop anytime or BP may raise. We were literally forced to admit patient there.

Once admitted, we asked doctor about the status of the patient. He asked us to wait till visiting hours. I was really surprised, why one should wait till visiting hours to know about the patients status ?!!?!

The ICU appeared very strange to me. First of all, everything was happening in a closed space. None of us could see what's going on inside. Even Government offices have transparent glass doors nowadays, why not hospitals ?!?!?!

What's wrong in giving us an option to see what is happening to the patient ?!?!

Probably it might put an end to their earning methodology. I don't want to name the hospital, because it is not the only hospital doing like this.

We people are very tolerant in this issue. We actually never fight for a transparent ICU. Government decided to increase transparency in Government offices. If an official accepts bribe, person from outside could see it. This has actually put some fear on officials mind and hence bribe transportation has come down literally.

But we people never imagined a transparent ICU. In developed nations, husband is allowed to see the how his wife delivers a baby. But here we people are cheated. Many natural cases are converted into cesarean cases. Many mothers life are put into risk. Till date we people have not asked for a transparent maternity ward. What's wrong in allowing husband watch his child's birth ?!?!?

Doctors also will realize that someone is watching me. This will make them more responsible in their job. But unless we people talk about these issues, this are never going to happen - it is assured.

Come on youngsters. Think in this direction. Ultimately everyone of us have to visit hospital (willingly or unwillingly) at least once in our lifetime. Innovations are most welcome.

Ultimately, we need to get back medical field as a service sector from business sector.
