Raj Ghat (Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi)
Another important place to keep in your diary if you are visiting the Indian Capital, Delhi is the Raj Ghat which is a simple, yet striking, memorial which was built in honor of the Great Peace Lover Mahatma Gandhi and marks the place where he was finally cremated and laid to rest. It has an open platform with a flame of Eternity burning continuously to show that His Spirit is alive in all of us, even though Gandhi now has passed on. Created in Black Marble it is one of the most primary and special visiting spots for all to see when they visit Delhi. The Raj Ghat is a familiar site to locals and has a place of affection in the Inhabitants of Delhi's Hearts. Many Foreign Dignitaries and Heads of State come here to lay wreaths and flowers in memory of this remarkable Figurehead.
