Purana Qila, Delhi
The Old Fort of Delhi or the Purana Quila as it is known to the locals was built by the Mughal Emperor Humayun to honour the new city as it was then. He named it Dinpanah which means refuge of the Faithful Muslims often named their towns and cities with religious connotations as worship was a central part of their governance. The sad fact is that the Emperor fell down the stairs of the library and laid to rest through this tragic happening.
