Safdarjung Tomb
Safdarjung Fort lies at the Lodhi Road and located at the distance of 5 kms from Canaught Place. It is beside the Safdarjung airport. A colossal monument that was built by the Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula for his father Mirza Mukin Abul Mansur Khan( also known as Safdarjung) in 1753-54 AD is a must see. The Safdarjung Fort also known as Safdarjung Madrasa is centrally located in the garden. The mosque inside the garden representing a complete Mughal architecture.
Safdarjung was the then Wazir to the Emperor Ahmed Shahand the Tomb was built similar to that of Humayun's tomb. It is staged as a centre piece in the middle of a 300 square metre garden in the Mughal Charbagh style by an Ethiopian Architect namely Bilal Mohammed Khan for Rs 3 lakhs, which even in those days was an extremely large amount of money.
