Earth’s deepest secrets lie in the heart of the ocean and as the human mind is determined to explore these mysteries, it invents technologies that push the limits. Keeping in line with this, Tissot, the prestigious Swiss watch maker launches the Tissot Sea Touch, a divers watch that fulfills all the European Norms- EN13319 stipulated criteria (divers accessories) - luminosity, shock resistance, anti-magnetism, band solidity and the integration of a time control device.

The Tissot Sea-Touch was launched in New Delhi by Tissot Brand Ambassador Deepika Padukone and Vice President Sales, Ulrich Fischer as they inaugurated the exclusive Tissot boutique in Connaught Place today. Blending with the brand image, the boutique reflects the edgy yet serene aesthetic of the Swiss design brand's characteristic obsession with flawless surfaces. The store offers an entire range of the brand's most celebrated products.

Commenting on the new range, Dr Ulrich Fischer said “Touch technology is very now… While Tissot’s T-Touch basic was the world’s first tactile watch, to keep ahead of the competition, it is our endeavor to keep enhancing this technology. With the increasing awareness of Tissot in India, which is reflected in the fact that this is our second boutique in this city, I am sure India will welcome this innovation.”

Flaunting her new time-piece, Tissot Brand Ambassador, Deepika Padukone added “India has a vast landscape and Tissot has a vast variety. On one hand it offers the T-Touch Expert for mountaineers, on the other, we have the Tissot Sea-Touch for Divers. You really can’t ask for more.”

Priced at Rs47300 onwards, this tactile watch provides a selection of important diving data. When the diver enters the water (minimum depth 1m40), the hands go directly to 9 o’clock. Later the minute hand displays the depth of the dive on the scale around the bezel. The hour hand reveals the speed the diver is moving at in meters per minute on the dial.

Excellent visibility comes from highly luminescent material and an effective backlight. Patented technology by Tissot SA on the Sea-Touch ensures that the rubber-protected pushers have double protection and therefore can operate perfectly underwater.

Fashion Designing -A glance

India is a country in which many communities co-exist happily sharing their traditions, customs as well as their unique fashion-sense. Almost every community within India has its own style and manner of dressing but it is not uncommon for members of other communities to borrow such style-tips every now and again. Even the ‘sari’ is worn in different styles by members of different communities. But this does not mean that each style is only restricted to members of that community, In fact, there are even professional sari-drapers who cater to one of the latest Indian clothing trends by showing women how to drape their saris in the way that best accentuates its print or embroidery.

# The Work Fashion Design can be divided into three main branches — Garment design, Leather design, Accessory & Jewellery design. Here we will focus on Garment design. While the saying “clothes maketh a man” merits debate, the fact is we no longer wear clothes to keep ourselves covered or warm, but to express our personality and “attitude”. This is where the fashion designer steps in, to help us make the correct fashion statement. Creating a style, using the right fabric, the right cut and a good finish, the designer turns out either a singular creation (one of its kind) that may sell for a king’s ransom, or more usually, outfits that will reach a retail outlet in different sizes and colours. In certain cases, the garment may even be mass-produced for a specific market. Garments include items of regular clothing, generally western style, although there is a growing local market for Indian style designer wear such as salwar-kameez, sherwanis, ghagra-cholis, kurtis and so on. There are four courses of action that you can adopt to launch into the career of your dreams: Lawyers in private practice usually work for long and irregular hours meeting clients, researching and reading about new * Apprenticeship under a flourishing, well-known designer. * Employment in an export house or garment manufacturing unit. * Freelancing for fashion houses and boutiques. * Self-employment, as in opening your boutique or manufacturing unit or an export outfit to showcase your talent. Nothing can compare with the absolute joy when your creation is admired and appreciated for its style and finish. And the high-voltage publicity and applause as you proceed for the curtain call at the end of a stunning show won’t hurt either. Today fashion designers share equal space on Page 3 as models and film stars.

"We both are very professional. Sometimes I don't come to know whether the film I'm offered is also offered to Ranbir. We don't speak about our films that much because it would be extremely unprofessional.

"We read scripts separately and meet directors separately too and this may be the reason that post Bachna Ae Haseeno we haven't done any film together," she said.

Deepika hits out at Slumdog

Deepika Padukone has become the first Indian cover girl of a South American magazine — Cosas. The actress also panned Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire for its “dark” potrayal of India in the Peruvian edition of the magazine.

With this, she joins glam divas Madonna, Angelina Jolie and Shakira, who have also featured on the cover of the magazine.

“The problem is that the film only shows the dark side of our country. People tend to think this is all there is to India, which is not true. It’s not a correct representation of reality,” she says.

The actress, whose sultry look is making waves in South America, did a photo shoot for the magazine in Peru. She also attended the Fashion Week Peruvian Moda as the guest of honour sporting a stunning black sari.

The actress says she is upset about not being able to visit Cuzco, the old capital of the Incas, and Machu Picchu, because of lack of time.

Slamming Slumdog Millionaire , Deepika says India has a rich culture and heritage, and has developed a lot in recent years.

“Unfortunately, none of it has been shown in the film,” she says in the magazine.

“I do not deny that some of the things shown in the film are true. It must be noted the film is made by an alien,” the Bangalore beauty says.

Though Hollywood director Rob Cohen hailed Deepika as the new face of Indian cinema, the actress says she has no plans of moving to Hollywood in the near future. She, however, admits getting a few international offers, but says she is in no hurry and is waiting for the right script to come her way.

Deepika says the international offers she has got so far are not too exciting.

Cohen, who is collaborating with Indian filmmaker Firoz Nadiadwala for an international film titled Jewel of India, has been all praise for Deepika.

The actress is busy promoting Saif Ali Khan’s first production, Love Aaj Kal. And if rumours are to be believed, Deepika will fly to England to promote the Imtiaz Ali- directed film during the Twenty 20 world cup. She might also play a celebrity match to promote the film.

Sources close to the actress claim she has several other projects in hand, including sequels of two hit films — Madhur Bhandarkar’s Corporate and the Hrithik Roshan- starrer Krrish.

Deepika is also scheduled to shoot for the Farhan Akhtarstarrer Kartik Calling Kartik and Sajid Khan’s multi- starrer Housefull. The psychological thriller Kartik Calling Kartik will be directed by newcomer Vijay Lalwani.
